History
- 1873年、渋沢栄一により「抄紙会社」設立、日本の洋紙産業を開始。
- 1876年、商号を「製紙会社」と変更。
- 1893年、創業地の名を冠し、商号を「王子製紙」と改称。
- 1949年、王子製紙、過度経済力集中排除法により3社に分割、苫小牧製紙（後に王子製紙）、本州製紙、十條製紙（後に日本製紙）。
- 1952年、商号を「王子製紙工業株式会社」と変更。
- 1960年、商号を「王子製紙株式会社」と変更。
- 1993年、神埼製紙（株）と合併し新王子製紙（株）に社名変更。
- 1996年、本州製紙（株）と新王子製紙（株）が合併し王子製紙株式会社と改称。
