==History==
*1590年、蘇我理右衛門、京都において銅製錬・銅細工を開業。

*1927年、住友合資、別子鉱業所の経営を分離して、住友別子鉱山（株）を設立。

*1937年、住友別子鉱山（株）と住友炭礦（株）を合併して、住友鉱業（株）を設立。

*1946年、社名を井華鉱業（株）に改称。

*1952年、社名を住友金属鉱山（株）に改称。

*2002年、三井金属鉱業株式会社と亜鉛製錬事業について業務提携し、合弁会社エム・エスジンク（株）を設立。
