Mentholatum Company

The Mentholatum Company Inc. (wholly owned subsidiary of Rohto Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.)

In 1913 William Merrell Vories (1880-1964) acquired the rights to sell Mentholatum products in Japan under his Omi Brotherhood Pharmaceutical Company. From 1920 he marketed them under the brand name 'Menturm,' through the Omi Sales Company. The association with Rohto Pharmaceutical Co. began in 1975, with full acquisition taking place in 1988.
